Rabbi Hoffman will discuss his book the Dialectic of the Hebrew Language. He will use examples to show how the Torah uses a paradoxical model of thought. During the afternoon we will examine possible similarities and differences of Hebrew and Christian thought. We will discuss the life and teaching of Jesus from the Jewish perspective of the Talmud and the Torah in the spirit of Pope Francis’ suggestion that Christians try to understand Jesus in the context of the Jewish culture of the first century.

Henoch Dov Hoffman is a pastoral counselor, teacher, and a rabbi in the Denver area who has led study groups and Spiritual-Journey expeditions in Denver, Boulder, Utah, Australia and Israel. He teaches adults at Shalom al Yisroel, Kohelet, Talmudic Research Institute and Kehilath Aish Kedesh. He received his B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.A. from Putney Graduate School. His Talmudic studies and rabbinical training was with Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach and Rabbi Shloime Tweski. Learning with Rabbi Hoffman is fun, enlightening and challenging, history and current events weave together to open new insight.

Rabbi Hoffman has suggested reading this piece prior to attending the event.
