Join Spiritual Direction Colorado for 4,000 Year Road Trip: Gathering Sparks, which takes visitors on a dynamic and interactive journey through Jewish history and heritage, celebrating contemporary Jewish culture to inspire social transformation and civic engagement. The exhibit’s vibrant art installations, rare artifacts, digital media and photography create a visual storyline that illuminates the richness and diversity of Jewish life.
Penny Nisson, Director of Education, has worked in various capacities at the museum for over 20 years. For both onsite and offsite programs, Penny has studied about and adapted programs aligned with the changing times. Penny believes social justice and the Golden Rule continue to inspire her work as an artist and educator and feels blessed to have a job that she believes helps heal the world, a concept in Judaism known as Tikkun Olam.
Joan Wallis, Education Specialist, recently earned a Master’s Degree in Jewish Education. She has had numerous roles in community organizations and many years of experience with Mizel Museum as an educator. Joan shared her experience of being raised by survivors of the Holocaust as part of Mizel Museum’s Community Narratives Project, a digital story titled, One Generation Removed.
