Continuing Education for Spiritual Directors
(3:30 to 4 p.m. — check-in, fellowship and refreshments; the workshop concludes by 6:15 p.m. Cost: $15 to $35 as you are able. Your donations support scholarships.)

Topic  The Business Piece of Spiritual Direction
. If spiritual direction is about finding God in our ordinary life, then God must also be in our financial, tax and business activities. Barb will cover promotion (“how to get directees”) as a follow on to Pegge Bernacker’s workshop in May 2008. Then she’ll turn to the question of whether or not to charge, and, if so, how much. She’d like you to also bring your questions on business expenses, accounting, income and payroll taxes, business entity, insurance, engagement letters, supervision and anything else you’d like a business expert to answer. There will be time for reflection, small and large group discussions. You are invited to bring promotional items and ideas for display.

Presenter  Barb Chambless is both a spiritual director and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She blends these two diverse gifts to bring a practicality to her spiritual presence and a spirituality to her tax and mediation business. She was trained to be a spiritual director in the Benet Hill Program for Spiritual Direction. Subsequently, she was a founder and coordinator for the Benedictine Spiritual Formation Program in Denver. She is a past chair of Spiritual Direction Colorado.

Parking is available: off Washington St southbound between 14th and 13th Avenues; off Clarkson St northbound between Colfax and 14th Avenues; and on nearby streets.

A minimum of ten people must be registered by May 6th, the registration deadline for this workshop. More information.
