About the Conference.  Fr. Richard Rohr is convinced that mature religion always discovered that it needed a different lens in order to access spiritual and divine things. The loss of that older tradition is at the heart of the crisis in most major religions today.  Richard believes that people with some form of contemplative practice are in a unique position to model and teach this alternative consciousness. Out of this contemplative dimension emerges both personal spiritual deepening and a worldview that calls God’s people to global responsibility. Fr. Rohr’s workshop will include lecture, guided silence, and guided practices, so participants can “know” for themselves.

About our leader.  Fr. Rohr is an ordained priest and a Franciscan of the New Mexico Province. He founded the New Jerusalem Community in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1971, and the Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1986, where he presently serves as Founding Director.
