Messy Discipleship: Spiritual Direction and Student Ministry

Thur, May 16, 2013, 4–6:15 p.m. (networking, fellowship, and refreshments, 3:30–4 p.m.) Cost: $15 to $35, as you are able)

With the fast-paced cultural changes that are taking place in the lives of students today, it is important that there is definite help available to students through local youth ministry. This includes guidance in spiritual formation through avenues such as spiritual direction and discipleship. This continuing education workshop will give directors as well as youth leaders and ministers practical ways in which they can address this need in working with students.

REV. MICKEY COX is an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene. He has a Master’s degree in Spiritual Formation and is a spiritual director working out of the Westminster area. He also works in the Church of the Nazarene District Office as the Annual Conference Coordinator for 80 churches in Colorado. He has worked in Youth Ministry for 45 years, teaching and discipling students in local churches, and has written many articles along with two specific books to guide youth in intentional spiritual formation: No Limits Discipleship Journal and Sacred Life. His passion as a disciple shows in his desire to not only follow the One who has called him to live Life with God, but to come alongside others in living their Life with God as well.
