The Importance of Spiritual Practice in Spiritual Direction

Tues, Nov 5, 2013, 4–6:15 p.m. (networking, fellowship, and refreshments, 3:30–4 p.m.) Cost: $15 to $35, as you are able)

Do your directees struggle with spiritual practice wondering what to do or feeling guilty about what they are not doing? These issues are often based on a narrow definition of spiritual practice. This workshop will expand our understanding of spiritual practices and explore ways to bring more spiritual practice into our ministries and our own lives.

Rev. Jane E. Vennard was called to a ministry of teaching and spiritual direction and ordained by the United Church of Christ. She is adjunct faculty at the Iliff School of Theology, Garrett Evangelical Theological School and Columbia Seminary. She has a private practice of spiritual direction and leads retreats in a variety of ecumenical settings. Her most recent book is: Fully Awake and Truly Alive: Spiritual Practices to Nurture Your Soul.
