To promote spiritual direction, support spiritual directors in Colorado, and provide resources for all those on a spiritual journey.
Our History
Spiritual Direction Colorado began in 1995 at the suggestion of Episcopal Diocese of Colorado Bishop Jerry Winterrowd called two women forward who had recently completed a spiritual formation program to become spiritual directors. Those two women, Joanne Womack and Sally Hicks, became “The Committee on Spiritual Direction.” Several years after Sally and Joanne completed their term on the Committee the name was changed to Spiritual Direction Colorado (SDCO).
Since its inception in 1995, Spiritual Direction Colorado has provided an annual conference, a fall retreat, and continuing education for spiritual directors and for all of those seeking a deeper relationship with God. Besides our workshops and retreats, we currently offer online video resources of past events and monthly member gatherings.
